Note this is an IN STOCK, IMPERFECT board + carrying case.  The MSRP of this brand new when in stock will be $225 for the board + $55 for the carrying case = $280.  You are getting this very slightly imperfect board for a STEAL, AND it is IN STOCK and ready to ship!

Please note that the original kickstarter backer for this board opted to have a replacement board shipped to them so we are going to be sending this board directly from the customer to you, not from our warehouse.  This board was described by the customer as:

"-One piece of the veneer is very discolored relative to the others and is almost grey in color.
-One of the seams between the pieces of veneer is very visible.
-There are three scuffs in the finish on the playing surface and one in the trench.  These you can feel when you run your hand across it.
-There are lots of scratches in the finish on the playing surface.  You can't feel these, but they look horrible.
-Along the outside there is one long black streak and a lot of little yellow patches."

For this specific board, it actually LOOKS quite good in our opinion and the small defects are such that we choose to refund this board rather than try to replace it, we believe this backer has a higher standard of excellent for the boards than we can reasonably expect our production team to match so we recommended that this customer purchase a Tracey board.  Here are our thoughts on the above defects:

-One of the seams between the pieces of veneer is very visible.

We don’t aim for a PERFECT board but a perfectly PLAYABLE board.  With wax the board should play perfectly smooth, even if there is a seem visible.  This wouldn’t normally qualify as a “return/exchangeable” defect.

-There are three scuffs in the finish on the playing surface and one in the trench.  These you can feel when you run your hand across it.

The scuff in the ditch is outside the playing area so that would not normally even be a concern, the three on the finish would be a concern but we would ask you to try waxing the board first and if that didn’t smooth those out you could gently sand it down with very fine grit sandpaper to smooth those out.

-There are lots of scratches in the finish on the playing surface.  You can't feel these, but they look horrible.

The fact that these look “horrible” even if you can’t feel them indicates that you are expecting a higher level of craftmanship than we offer.

-Along the outside there is one long black streak and a lot of little yellow patches.

This defect also wouldn’t effect game play and is not something we would normally consider for a return/exchange.

UPDATE 1/8/2025:  We took this board off of the website as the backer changed their mind and wanted to try to re-finish the top of the board themselves and take a partial refund.  After some effort they reported back the following:

I sanded it with 320 (grit sandpaper) and applied some the varnish that you sent a link to but wasn't really happy with how even it was. So, I sanded it with 320 again and tried a second time. Again, it came out very uneven. In this video HERE  you can see that there are shiny spots and dull spot. If you run your fingers across it, some parts are very smooth and some parts are not.

Additionally, there are little speckles of finish that for some reason didn't incorporate into the rest. I followed the application instructions, using sweeping motions to apply it. It seemed like a fine mist coming out of the can, so I don't know why there are these heavier dots.

If I were to continue forward with trying to make this board work, I would probably apply more varnish until it was shiny and smooth everywhere, then sand it with 400 grit and then try to apply a final coat of finish. The problem is applying that final coat. I suspect I would get the same uneven and splotchy results. I think that the board is in better shape than it was originally. If someone who had some better knowledge and confidence with finishing were to buy it, I think they could get a good playing surface out of it. I just don't think it's within my capabilities to do so.

I've spent a good amount of time trying to fix this board.  I just don't think I'm going to be able to get it right. I'd be happy to send this board to someone who thinks they can put a better finish on it than I can.

The only other issues for them to be aware of are a sliver of veneer chipped out when removing a peg, a small dent near one of the peg holes and a few specs of dust or something in the varnish despite the fact that I bought and used a tack cloth to try to remove all the dust before applying the varnish. Pictures below. I'd be happy to send sand paper and tack cloth with the board.

Most of the above problems with our returned boards can be easily addressed by following the guidelines of our Care/Repair guide HERE.

And a few important points about all our ELITE boards:

Please note that all of our ELITE boards for 2024 were produced with "antique" looking screws that are supposed to look distressed/weathered.  You can purchase brand new brass screws if you prefer that look HERE.

Question: Are the acrylic 20s holders going to fit snuggly on my board?

The acrylic 20s holders are intentionally a little loose so that they don't scratch the rim of your board. They wiggle a bit but if you put a small piece of microfiber or other cloth or even a papertowel/napkin in the gap then it fills it nicely AND acts as a buffer so the very hard acrylic doesn't scratch your board all up every time you use it. The 20s holder for our standard boards are even larger and we custom sized the 20s holders to this exact size by design.

PLEASE REFER TO THE PHOTOS for the damage as all sales are final on this item!

We ran our most successful Kickstarter EVER in mid-2024 for Crokinole but the project exploded and we won't be shipping any PREORDER boards until after the Kickstarter is fulfilled.  We estimate Wave 1 will fulfill in October 2024 and Wave 2 will fulfill in December 2024, meaning preorders from our website will likely be shipping in January 2025.

We only have a very limited number of these left from our 2024 Kickstarter that raised over $748,000!  Check it out HERE.  Sorry we can only ship to the lower 48 US States and only via UPS Ground as these are HUGE and too big for the Post Office to handle!

Boards Specs:

The boards consist of a 26" diameter playing surface + 2 inch ditch + 1/4 inch rim = 30.50 inches in total diameter and 3 inches thick. The game will come double boxed in a box with dimensions of 34.5 X 34.5 X 4.5 Inches and weights in at a massive 17.4 pounds (7.9 KG). Yes these are HUGE! Our boards meet the The World Crokinole Championship™ specifications which are:

  • 26" diameter playing surface (66cm)
  • distance from 'dead' center of the '20' hole to the pin/post circle is 4" (102mm)
  • distance from pin/post circle to 10/5 circle is 4" (102mm)
  • distance from 10/5 circle to 5/start circle is 4" (102mm)
  • distance from 5/start circle to the edge of the playing surface is 1" (25.5mm)

These equidistant factors contribute to the 'science,' design, and original intent of the game. "20" hole diameter is generally 1-3/8" (35mm) with a depth of ¼" (6mm) width of dividing circle lines is recommended as 1/16" (1.5mm) but no more than1/8" (3mm) width of ditch/gutter (from side rail/rim to edge of playing surface) is a minimum 2" (51mm).

This standard is neither new nor something defined solely for the WCC event. Rather, this is the paradigm viewed from dimensions established more than 120 years ago.
