Its similiar in construction to a marble run but its a spinning wooden top layed on its side and with two dowels on it to allow it to spin quickly while decending the run. The rotations of the gyro in contrast to the speed of the run make this an insteresting toy for all ages of children. Notice how the inner circles on the gyro top rotate faster than the outer circles and compare the distance traveled to the number of rotations! This is a sturdy, 100% wood run that makes a great addition to a desk or dresser! Great conversation peice for the kids too!
