1. When I ordered the release date was one date and now it has changed! Whats up with that?
Our release dates are projected numbers based on the best available information we have at the time. If the factory has a production issue or the shipping is delayed, or the container with our items are picked for inspections by Customs, then that date can change. We estimate the date given our best estimates and revise the information as soon as we are aware of delays.
2. OK, #1 above is all well and good but if it changed then why didn't you email me at tell me the release date had changed?
This is something we struggle with. Many of our customers do receive very occasional newsletters but we can go sending out a newsletter every time a single product's release date is changed. Also many of our customers do not sign up to receive product updates or newsletters. Many don't even create accounts to the site when they check out. We could require registration to check out but most customers want to have the option to NOT have to go through the registration process just to place a single order. As a result we don't even have these buyers in our system as such and have no way of contacting each of them about each product.
The best way to find out about a product release date is to check the maydaygames.com main page or look at the product detail page and read the latest information there. Alternatively you can certainly email to maydaygames@gmail.com and ask us any question you would like and we will reply ASAP.
3. What is going on with my PREORDER item? I ordered it on Monday, I got an "order complete" notification on Tuesday and a tracking # that same day, but its been 2 weeks and I haven't received anything!
If you placed an order for an item and its product detail page is showing "preorder" then we haven't shipped it. Why? Because its a preorder. When the item is released we will ship it the day it is released. We ship all orders to domestic customers from our website the same day as they ship to distributors so no company offering our products will have it IN STOCK before one of our customers who preordered from us.
So why the tracking notice and "order complete" email? We want to be certain that orders placed on our site do not go unfilled while distributors get product that rightly should have been for our direct customers. How can we be CERTAIN this will happen? Well when an order is placed we process that order and actually physically make a label on USPS or UPS for that item to be shipped. We then "complete" the order to take it out of our online inventory. We keep a running total of how many units of that item have been presold to customers and we have a date on the label showing the day of the order. Then as product is released we are CERTAIN that the direct customers get the product first and we can ship it out the day it is available.
If we didn't make the labels as orders came in then quantities could get muddled and we would have to go through all our preorders and make labels for them on the day products were released. We believe release days should be spent packaging orders and shipping them as soon as possible rather than delaying the shipment for a few days while we make several hundred labels.
4. Why can't you just tell me when my product is shipping and forget all the run around?
If you order in stock items they will ship within 2 business days, usually less. If you order preorder items we have to make your label and "complete" your order to keep track of inventory as noted in #3 above.
5. How do I know how much shipping is going to be and what are the payment methods you accept?
We can ship worldwide (anywhere with an address) and shipping is based on actual weight of the items. Our checkout system is based on www.paypal.com so you can pay with a paypal payment or you can use your credit card on the site. If you add the items to your cart and try to check out it will prompt you for a postal code and country to tell you the shipping. If you want to give me a detail of what you want I can provide you with a specific quote, though the Website (www.maydaygames.com) is capable of doing so as well. Email to maydaygames@gmail.com.
